You came into my life one one warm and sunny Texas day

And now after one long and often trying year, I have come to pray that you'll never need to go away. 

On that day you came to me with anger, fear and trepidation,

But now we love each other with the entirety of our hearts and without a moment's hesitation.

We have calmed each others fears,

And even occasionally dried each others tears,

And then one magic day you became the children of my heart

And then I knew that somehow we must find a way for us to stay together and never be apart.

So for now I will continue to worry and fret, with many a sleepless night,

I wonder what will our future together be and will it come without a fight?

Our love for each other has grown deeper by the day and now grows ever strong.

We have become a family in spite of all that could and has gone wrong.

Where will it all end? Who can really say?

I only know as long as God permits, we will continue to love you, handling whatever comes up along the way.

Minute by minute, hour by hour, never ending love is your's, enduring day to day.

We will let the future come and face it as a family, come what may.

For though in the eyes of most who see us, I am but a stepgrand.

And they think I an not truly you grandma, but as you take me by the hand

I merely I smile at both of you and wink

For you and I know that you are mine regardless of what the rest of the world thinks!
